Sentimental Saturday: Counting My Blessings

16 Feb

Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.”

If I had to count my blessings! well, I don’t think I could count that high. Sometimes I wake up in the morning feeling very sorry for myself, but then I start my amazing day. I start out by calling to my wonderful mother every morning. She brightens every day.

Today, I went to a Saturday morning Zumba class. I never go on Saturday because I usually have my writing group, but we met yesterday this week. The music, the dancing, the friendship, these all make for the most invigorating morning. I get pumped up and wired for the entire day.

Later, I had a lovely leisurely lunch with my dear friend Della. We met at Olive Garden, and she treated me to a belated birthday lunch. I’m still celebrating a month later. I have the most amazing friends.

My friends Lynne and Charlie drove over to my house on their motorcycles around 5, and they stayed to visit a while. They invited me over to their house to hang out a while, so I did. They both walked me out to my car and said to feel free to call any time, day or night, if I ever needed anything. What made that so special is, I know that they genuinely meant it. As we admired the full vibrant moon glowing and peaking through the hazy clouds, I began to count my blessings.

I have so many amazing friends who brighten my day, every day. I have my mother, sister and sons who give me strength and unconditional love. I have more friends and blessings than there are stars in the sky. I “embrace my blessings,” and today was another day “worth remembering.”
