Today was a really good day. The sun was shining and the temperature shimmied up from the 40’s up to almost 70, give or take. I went for a brisk morning walk, straightened the house, prepared a meal for my senior art group, did some shopping, then headed off to Towne Creek.
My good friend, Chris, joined us this afternoon. I kinda put her on the spot and said, “So, what are you going to teach us today?” Chris is an amazing artist and teacher, so we might as well take advantage of her expertise. While I prepared yummy tuna salad sandwiches, (for some reason I thought it was Lent already, duh…next week.) chips and German chocolate cake for our snack, Chris rummaged through our art closet and found pastels and inspiration.
There were some silk flower daisy plants on every table, so Chris did a wonderful pastel chalk demo for us. She showed us how simple shapes and bold complimentary colors could make the artwork pop off the page. We gave it a try and the results were amazing. THANKS CHRIS!!!
Chris shares her talent with the Young At Heart senior artists at Towne Creek Apartments.
