Theme Song Thursday: Artists

11 Apr

“All forms of madness, bizarre habits, awkwardness in society, general clumsiness, are justified in the person who creates good art.”
― Roman Payne, Rooftop Soliloquy
***************
Yes, artists are weird. Their world revolves around creating, expressing and sharing. On the most part, artists know that they will never become rich and famous, but that doesn’t stop them. Many artists band together to help one another and their community. And, this is most evident by the Art Club of McKinney volunteers.

This weekend, the Art Club of McKinney will sponsor the 50th Annual Collin County Art Show and Student Art Show at MPAC on the Square. There is soooo much work involved in setting up and hosting this event, and there are always those selfless, hardworking, generous people who do all that work, silently, behind the scenes.

Yesterday and today, I spent a few hours helping out with collecting artwork and setting up the show and the silent auction. But, there are some tireless folks that are spending eight to ten hours each day, for weeks, preparing, working, hanging work, hosting, and taking down. Hats off to you!
