Friday:First Flower, Furry Rock, a Found Penny , and Fun on the Square

12 Apr

“A garden to walk in and immensity to dream in–what more could he ask? A few flowers at his feet and above him the stars.”
― Victor Hugo, Les Misérables
This morning when I went for my walk/run, I noticed a tiny tinge of red hidden under the leaves on the rose bush in front of the house. I was so excited. My first rose of the season. The Knockout Roses are prolific, but the first rose is always a welcome sign of Spring,

Further down the street, I saw this amazing rock all covered in furry moss and had to take a picture with my phone. You see the coolest things when you’re not looking for cool things.

A few minutes later, I was getting ready to change my brisk pace walk into a turtle pace run, when I noticed a lucky Penny on the sidewalk. Boy, a lot of distractions this morning.

It was a glorious Spring day, so I headed off to the Square to see if I could help a couple hours at the art show before heading off to Towne Creek and my senior art group. I totally forgot that they were having the High Noon activities on the lawn in front of MPAC. April 11 – Magic Show with Main Street Magic and Fun. The kids loved the magician.

And all that was before 1 in the afternoon. That was just the beginning of my day. I did a lot more, but we’ll save some of the other activities and photos for tomorrow. I’m exhausted just recounting it all. Plus it’s almost midnight and I want to get this published under the wire.
