Theme Song Thursday

20 Jun

“There is always a sadness about packing. I guess you wonder if where you’re going is as good as where you’ve been.”
― Richard Proenneke, One Man’s Wilderness: An Alaskan Odyssey

Well, I was searching for a cheerier quote and song about packing up and sorting out things, but everything was kinda sad and depressing. I’ve been going through all my stuff, sorting, tossing, and packing up boxes and bins.
It is very difficult to let things go, especially when you are a self-confessed, card-carrying hoarder. I’ve barely scratched the surface, but my goal is to get a couple of boxes packed or sorted every day. I should be done in about 3,487,628 days. Wish me luck!

This was very peppy and great dancing. Made me want to get up and dance along. (It’s a Zumba thing. You always want to dance.)

Bye Bye Blackbird

Pack up all my care and woe
Here I go, singing low
Bye bye blackbird

Where somebody waits for me
Sugar’s sweet, so is he
Bye bye blackbird

No one here can love or understand me
Oh, what hard luck stories they all hand me
Make my bed and light the light
I’ll arrive late tonight
Blackbird, bye bye

No one here can love or understand me
Oh, what hard luck stories they all hand me
Make my bed and light the light
I’ll arrive late tonight
Blackbird, bye bye

A few boxes sorted to put in the garage.

Lots of stuff. Some to save, some to sell, some to give away.
