Friday: Four Ducks, a Feather and a Few Friends

4 Oct

“When you are standing in the middle of a storm you have two choices: Pray to God that it goes away. Or, start praying to God that he gives you the wisdom to figure out why you’re standing in the middle of a storm.”
― Shannon L. Alder
We had some pretty bad storms yesterday, but our fair city of McKinney didn’t get hit too badly. We needed the rain, for sure. When I got up in the morning, it was cool and the sun was shining. I was out the door before 7:30 and walked well over an hour, just admiring the scenery, the ducks quacking in the pond, and the crisp refreshing after the rain air.

Then off to the store to pick up some refreshments and treats for my senior art group. (Found a lucky feather right next to my car.)

I had a nice Mediterranean lunch at Blue Olive with Karen and Mercedes, stopped at Ross, Michael’s, Big Lots, then over to Towne Creek. I brought hot dogs, chips and a chocolate pie to celebrate Miss Bonnie’s and Mr. Angel’s birthday. Miss Mary, who doesn’t even come to art, brought us a whole watermelon. We worked on some watercolor projects, and had a feast.

It was a long day…but, I came home, put on my gym shoes and went for a little walk before it got dark.

It was comforting to see the sunshine after the storm.
