Sunday Sermon with a Sunrise and a Sunset

16 Aug

There’s always a story. It’s all stories, really. The sun coming up every day is a story. Everything’s got a story in it. Change the story, change the world.
~Terry Pratchett

OK, I think I’m losing it. This week’s Gospel sounded exactly like last week’s. But, I was distracted by all the announcements, and another baptism, and discussing Martin, our seminarian ‘s, last day at St . Gabriel’s. Martin is going back to complete his studies before being ordained.

I enjoy going to Mass on Sunday. Families and friends gather to show their respect and appreciation for their blessings. Miss Virginia and Mr. Joe always save me a seat. We hug and chat before Mass starts. Today, Miss Virginia brought me some fresh okra from her garden.

So, when Martin spoke after the Gospel, saying his goodbyes and asking for our continued prayers, he talked about family. A family isn’t just about your blood relatives, but also the people your heart embraced through friendship. We were his family. True.

My day started out with an early morning walk /run before Mass. A beautiful sunrise welcomed my day.

Here’s my glorious sunset from last night. You have to admit, there’s something magical about Mother Nature.

Spectacular !
