Saturday:) A Songbird Sings

29 Nov

J.M. Barrie“The reason birds can fly and we can’t is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings.”

The songbird always sings his happy tune

In the light of the day or the dark of the moon.

Perched on a branch, he just warbles and sings

If not just for himself and the joy that it brings.

He may be alone as he soars in the sky

But, God gave him wings so he could learn how to fly.

I heard this bird singing in a tree the other day, and I had to stop and take his picture. I thought it interesting that this is the same bird and same tree in the same moment. As I moved to take the second photo, the bird was in shadow. It made me think that it’s kinda like life…it’s all in the perspective and how you look at things. It’s the same life, you just have to decide if it’s in sunshine or in shadow. Very deep, huh?

When I wax nostalgic, and get inspired by a photo, I write poetry or do a painting. I just thought these were cool pictures. I may try and do a watercolor of this sometime…if I ever get done painting my zillion ornaments.

Happy Saturday!
