Sunday Sermon and Other Stuff

“When you weren’t dealt the best hand, don’t blame the dealer. Deal with it the best you can. Sometimes you have to bluff.”

“I try not to make plans. God always laughs at your plans. I’m going to keep the door open, and keep the page blank, and see what gets painted upon it.” ― Tom Hiddleston

This morning was sunny and bright, in every sense of the word. I left early to greet before 9 o’clock Mass, and everyone was chipper and smiling as they walked in. A little sunshine and a big smile can go a long way.

Today is the Second Sunday in Advent, and Father Don’s homily was about preparing ourselves for Christmas. Not preparing food, decorating, etc., but preparing our souls and our lives. He said, “Life isn’t always ideal or how we planned.” We have to make the best of what we have been given. My take on it…

“When you weren’t dealt the best hand, don’t blame the dealer, deal with it the best you can. Sometimes you have to bluff.”

Pretty profound, right? Well, after my strange emotional roller coaster day yesterday, I ended up having a wonderful day. I shared a few pictures from yesterday’s Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run but I saved the Tupps Brewery Arts and Crafts Show pics for today. So many talented artists and crafters. These are just a few of the amazingly talented artists. And the best part is, they are all my friends.

At the end of the day, I can’t help but smile and feel blessed.
