“A friend visits with you when you’re in town. True friends visit your elderly mother because your family is their family.”

Celebrate the people in your life who are there because they love you for no other reason than because you are YOU.

My visit to Chicago has been fun, and Celebrating Mom’s birthday has gone on and on.
Yesterday, Lin and her granddaughter came to visit, bearing gifts, of course. I haven’t seen them since last year, my last visit and Joe and Lindsay’s wedding. Mom loved seeing Lin Lin, as she calls her, and her adorable little one.
Afterwards, we let Mom rest while we went to lunch, shopping and the mandatory turtle sundaes at Culver’s. That’s a tradition.
Now, here’s the amazing part. See this adorable little girl…when Grandma Lin wasn’t sure where to turn, she said, “Turn here Granma, behind the pizza place.” She’s only three years old! Then, when we were driving her back to her house, she guided us street by street, then said, “Here’s my home.”
