Tuesday:) Takin’ A Trip To WinStar Casino

“There is an unspoken bond you create with the friends you travel with.” –

Yesterday morning, a group of good friends boarded a bus and headed off to WinStar Casino in Oklahoma. Jerry made all the arrangements, set up the private bus, sent out all the emails, and worked out all the logistics.

When we asked Jerry why he wanted to go to WinStar, he said that it’s the world’s largest casino and he had it on his bucket list. There were 21 of us old folks, off to have an adventure. Bill and Dolores brought champagne and orange juice for mimosas, and Miss Pat brought a huge tray of cookies, so we traveled in style. I was the annoying youngster in the back of the noisy bus that shouted to Jerry upfront about every ten minutes…”Jerry, Jerry!” When he would turn around, I yelled, “Are we there yet? Are we there yet?” The casino was about an hour and a half away, so I asked a lot of times.

We all had fun. Most of us lost money, except for lucky Miss Pat, of course. The only place I broke even was at the ATM. The lunch buffet was great, the flashing lights and people watching was fun. Because it’s the largest casino, I also got a lot of walking in, 3.6 miles to be exact.

I left with a little less money than I arrived with, but I felt pretty darn lucky. I spent a fun day with friends, AND before we left, I found a lucky penny on the floor.
