I’ll admit it, I’m not a car person. A car is just a mode of transporation to get you from here to there. I haul a lot of stuff in it, so I like a big SUV type car. Going to the car wash and cleaning the interior is also not a big priority. But, the other day, I had trouble recognizing my car in the dark parking lot. My burgundy car looked sort of black from all the dust and dirt.
Seeing how it is Lent, and I’m trying to improve myself, I decided to stop at the car wash on the way home. After Zumba and 7.5 miles on the bike at the Y , I headed for the car wash. Dang, I missed my turn and was ready to forget the project, but decided to double back and get in line. It was a beautiful day after frigid temps last week, so I wasn’t the only one with that bright idea.
I cranked up the radio and sang along. When I was done, I pulled into one of the many busy bays that had the vacuums. I spent nearly an hour vacuuming front, sides and rear carpets, and tossing tons of garbage, flyers, water bottles and five year old mystery mess. What an accomplishment. The car looks so clean and tidy. I may do this again next year.
Oh yes, when I got out of my car to clean it, look what was there on the ground waiting for me. A lucky penny.
