“Storms make trees take deeper roots.” ~DollyParton

Well, the bitter cold and snow arrived just as predicted. Sunday turned out to be Snowmageddon. Not really a lot of snow, but very bitter cold. I watched morning Mass in my pajamas, with a fleece jacket, under a furry blanket and a cup of hot ginger tea.
Today’s Gospel was the story of Jesus curing the lepper who had pleaded with Him to make him clean. Jesus touched him and cleansed him.
”Mind you tell no one anything, but go and show yourself to the priest, and make the offering for your cleansing prescribed by Moses as evidence to them. The man went away, but then started freely proclaiming and telling the story everywhere, so that Jesus could no longer go openly into any town, but stayed outside in deserted places. Even so, people from all around kept coming to him.”
My take on it… Never give up hope to be cured or made whole. Let your complete faith guide you. And like the cured lepper, it’s not easy to hold back your excitement and gratitude.

The rest of my day was spent trying to stay warm and safe. I did venture out one time to walk the dog in the park across the street. She didn’t want to stay out that long either.

Feeling thankful and blessed on this frigid Valentine’s Day.
