Toni’s Tuesday Time-lapse Painting:) My Pond

“Simplicity is the greatest adornment of art.”

Like most of the country, we are in a deep freeze here in North Texas. I’ve been luckier than most, as my power and heat is still working. Many of my friends and neighbors have been without pop electricity and heat for days or with sporadic outages every half hour with no end in sight for days. With the temperatures getting to below zero, we aren’t prepared for this. Sending warm thoughts to everyone coping with the cold.

Today, I decided to find a bright and cheery photo to use for A reference for my time lapse video. This is the neighborhood pond that I walk around just about every day… just not lately. The colors in the photo were so brilliant that I thought I’d do a simple Crayola marker watercolor technique. It’s so fun and easy, even the children would enjoy painting this way.

Crayola markers are bright, beautiful, and water based for easy clean up, but also blend well with a little water. Just make sure to blend your lightest colors first, like yellow and orange, and rinse you brush well in between color

Have you tried this? If you do, let me see what you or the kids created. I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you. It’s been a crazy year, and this weather is hitting many people and families very hard. I hope you are staying safe and warm too.
