Montage Monday and Miss Pat’s Birthday

2 Mar

  1. “A birthday is a day that brings
Much celebration and so we sing,
A very Happy Birthday to You
Our life would not be complete without You.”
    ~Catherine Pulsifer
Miss Pat loves Elvis. When she blew out her candle, we almost expected him to walk in the door singing “Love Me Tender.”

Such a sweet lady. Literally, she’s “THE COOKIE LADY,” and we all carry around quite a few extra pounds to prove it.

Now, for my week in a peek. It was a pretty slow, cold, scary week, with hail, crazy winds and constant rain. But, we are still alive and kickin’. Life is good.

Sunday Sermon and Some Kitty Sitting

1 Mar

“In ancient times cats were worshipped as gods; they have not forgotten this.” ~Terry Pritchett

A rainy gloomy day here in North Texas. More rain, just what we needed, NOT! But, I was blessed with a very warm and cozy and beautiful day. Life is good. I got up early to check on Miss Kathy’s cat and new little kitties. They are so cute and entertaining. Then, I made some tea and time for Mass on TV….

Today’s Gospel on this Transfiguration Sunday was the story of Jesus going up to the mountain with Peter, James and John, where they saw Him transfigured in glowing white. Then Moses and Elijah appeared. They offered to prepare tents for the visitors…

“Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them;
from the cloud came a voice,
“This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”
Suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone
but Jesus alone with them.

As they were coming down from the mountain,
he charged them not to relate what they had seen to anyone,
except when the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
So they kept the matter to themselves,
questioning what rising from the dead meant.“

My take on it… sometimes we are asked to believe what we cannot see, and other times we see things that we cannot believe. Either way, God used His voice to say, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.” Jesus spent His time on earth telling us basically two things, LOVE GOD, and LOVE THY NEIGHBOR. Everything else falls under those two categories.

Now for the kitties. They are so cute. When I first met them, they scampered away and were afraid of me. But, seeing as I was feeding them now, they love Miss Toni, just like old Mo, the older cat. He often comes across the street to visit me and make sure no pesky mice are loitering around my house.

Mealtime. ”OK, you fed us breakfast, you can stay, but don’t forget to clean the litter box.”
Look how cute. “Time for a nap. Come back later when it’s time for dinner, Miss Toni.”

So, thus was my day. Feeling loved, feeling blessed, feeling AMAZING.
