Montage Monday:) A Week in a Peek

“The only way for writers to meet is to share a quick peek over a common lamp-post.”

~Cyril Connolly

I like that quote. It seems like you can share your inner soul, your entire world, and all your joys or fears with total strangers or close friends with just a few words “over a common lamp-post,” or with a few photos.

I usually designate Monday for Montage Monday and my week in a peek, but yesterday I wrote about our wonderful monthly McKinney Creative Community potluck gathering at The Cove.

Instead of my Montage Monday yesterday, which was replaced with McKinney Creative Community, I’m having a Toni’s Tuesday Week In A Peek day. A reflection of a busy fun week.

“When your days are filled with friends, family, firemen, fun, food and fine chocolate, it doesn’t get better than that.”

So much chocolate, so little time. With Valentine’s Day, Art Club, parties, and celebrations all in the same week, I’m on sugar overload with all the baking and cooking. The good news is, there was plenty for sharing.

It was pretty much a cold, bleak, grey, gloomy, drizzly and yucky week. Isn’t it great to be alive? If you can keep busy, create, pray, smile, spend time with friends and family, that makes for a great week.

If it wasn’t for all the pictures I take every day, I’d have trouble remembering all the cool stuff I do and fun people I spend time with. Here’s a week in a peek…

Another great week. One minute I’m in Chicago, the next I’m back in McKinney. No, it’s not time travel, but I sure would love that. It was wonderful to be with family and friends. All I can say is… I am blessed.

It’s a new year. It’s a great time to start fresh. I’m hoping to make this the best year ever. Wishing the same for you.

“New Year’s Day. A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved. Answers to be discovered and then lived in this transformative year of delight and self-discovery. Today carve out a quiet interlude for yourself in which to dream, pen in hand. Only dreams give birth to change.”

~Sarah Ban Breathnach

A wonderful Christmas holiday with friends and family. Of course, the best part was welcoming another new baby into the world. Our little family is growing and my heart is ten times bigger than it was last year. Don’t worry, I have plenty of more room for more love. My heart won’t explode.

Wow! A great week. Lunches with friends, cooking, baking, sharing, beautiful sunshiny walks, and my traditional Black Russian Friday. There was a wonderful visit with my senior artist friends at Towne Creek. I found a new adorable lunch place, Bluebird Cottage and Cafe. I didn’t have to wait at all to early vote on Saturday, then went to an amazing concert by the U.S. Air Force Band. I got to FaceTime with my adorable granddaughter. There was a wonderful phone conversation with my son in California. It was a full lovely week, filled with more blessings than I can count.
