My dear friend Sherri called me early this morning asking if I wanted to go on an adventure. We always have such fun, and she always has wonderful adventures planned.
Our first stop was Preston Trail Farms where we saw the most adorable animals and Fall photo ops.
Then, we were off to Bebo’s Cafe in Pilot Point. There was so much to see, and the food was SO yummy.
I haven’t seen that much rock ‘n roll memorabilia since my trip to Memphis. We even had a photo op with the real live Mr. Bebo.
Thank you, Sherri Murphy, for another adventure… on the road again.
Better to get off the train at this station. Than to do it later, when it’s too late. Remember Time doesn’t wait!

Another Chicago adventure today. A Metra train ride into the city was on my agenda. My sister dropped me off at the Elgin station, and my son Matt was meeting me at the Western Avenue stop. It sounds very adventurous, but I never know where the heck I’m going. I rely on family to point me in the right direction.
It was just about an hour ride, and Matt was there waiting. It was pretty cold out, but the sun was shining. Felt like 3 degrees according to the weather map app. Matt offered to call an Uber to take us to lunch, but I was bundled up and ready to walk. (Plus, I haven’t gotten much walking in these past weeks.)
Whenever I visit, we go to the local hot dog joint, called Fatso’s. (Appropriately named) The Chicago hot dog.
Yes, I’m eating my way through Chicago.
After the dog and fries, we took a frigid walk back to his place. It was a good three miles or more, then three flights up the stairs. I guess I got my steps in today. And…we’ve only just begun. More adventures tonight.

The morning sun and promise of a warm day wasn’t enough to cheer me up this morning. I had no plans, no Zumba, no classes, no lunch, no nothin’. I was just about to make a cup of tea and go for a long walk when the phone rang. It was Lynne, “What are you doing today?”
I told her that Wednesday was the only day that wasn’t totally jam-packed to the gills, and I was struggling to think of a way to occupy an entire day. To my complete delight, she said, “Would you like to take a road trip and go up to Lake Texoma and visit Sherry?”
Woo-double-hoo. An all day adventure with dear friends. Say no more! I’ll just share of few of our adventure with photos.
On the floor at one of the many antique and thrift shops we visited.
Yes, we live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, and there is no end to the adventure when you have friends to share them with.
