Wednesday:) WOW!!! We Did It…30,000 Visitors, Over 60,000 Views

“Success isn’t achieved by what you’ve accomplished for yourself, but rather what you have shared with others.”

~Toni Armenta Andrukaitis

I’ve been watching the stats on my WordPress page for several days. I was getting close to the 60K mark of total views, and almost 30 K total visitors on my blog. It’s been an exciting personal challenge for me to see how many people I could reach with my little mundane stories of faith, family, love, heartache, and heartwarming tales that I’ve experienced along this wonderful but bumpy journey we call life.

My initial personal challenge was to see if I could write a blog every day for entire year. That first day was January 1, 2013, and guess what? It’s been over  3 1/2 years, and I haven’t missed a day. There were a couple of days my story didn’t get posted because of Internet failure, but the story was written and posted later. I haven’t missed a day. I write and share every day

This writing challenge has been more of an inspiration, a healing, and a constant source of joy. I have met many interesting bloggers and have read many fascinating stories and poems, and have seen fabulous photography and videos.

This afternoon, around 3:30, I saw the 29,999 visitors and I was holding my breath waiting for the next number. YES! At 3:34, I saw 30,000 visitors. 1,378 consecutive posts!

The reason I wrote, “We Did It” in the title is because I just wrote the stories and took the pictures. You are the ones who have read, commented, shared, laughed, cried, and prayed along with me. It is OUR journey. I have shared with you, and have learned so much from you.

Friday: 502 Days and Counting

17 May

“Desire is the key to motivation, but it’s determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal – a commitment to excellence – that will enable you to attain the success you seek.”
― Mario Andretti

When I started writing this blog on January 1, 2013, my lofty goal was to try and find something to write about for 365 consecutive days. I wasn’t sure at first if it was possible, but I knew when I put my mind to do something, anything, by golly, I do it.

So, as the year flew by, and the original challenge became a rewarding ritual, I found that I needed to write every day. I was determined to find something profound, funny, sad, or informative to share. It made each day an adventure and worth living, from the wonderful sunny days, down to those dark, devastating, I want to stay curled up in my bed and cry days. I’ve had them all and shared them all with you, my friends, family and strangers.

So now, 502 days and 16,682 views later, I am as exhilarated and motivated as I was that first day. WOW! That’s amazing! Thank you all SO MUCH for all the kind responses, likes, and views. Mr. Andretti was right. I have achieved success.

Temerarious Tuesday: Ten Thousand and Counting

27 Nov

Another new word for me and maybe for you too. Last night when I posted my Monday montage, I was just 4 hits away from 10,000 views. I know it’s not followers, but just the fact that something I’ve written was looked at that many times is just mind-boggling, or more appropriately, mind-bloggling. So, my temerarious attempt to share my words and thoughts with friends and strangers has become such a blessing. I appreciate everyone who stops by, but I especially love all the new friends I’ve made and interesting blogs I’ve found to follow. “Y’all rock!”

Saturday: Sittin’ Around With the Duke (John Wayne Marathon)

21 Jul

Woo-Hoo! I’ve posted 200 consecutive posts! I was excited when I made it up to 100, now 200 posts and 5,287 total views! I haven’t run out of things to say, mostly because I’m a blabber mouth, and life always has its adventures.

Today was just sittin’ around and recuperating. Thank goodness for a John Wayne marathon on TV. The Duke kept me entertained most the entire day.

Tuesday Tips and Tricks: Blogging, Marketing, and Magic

26 Jun

I recently watched a free webinar by author and marketing expert, Guy Kawasaki. His advice focused on using social media to help authors sell their books, but the information is useful for anyone trying to sell anything, share info, or just be heard. If you have time, check it out on this link or on YouTube. Great tips!

What I also noticed on Guy’s Twitter page is that he posts like…all the time. I have no desire to be plugged into a device all day. All good things in moderation. He must be Type A. I’m Type L.(L for lazy) But again, he is very successful and has some excellent advice. Another of my favorite tips: unplug once in a while and talk to REAL people.

Now for the magic. Want to make your own slurpees or frozen Cokes at home, fast and easy? Check out this link.
