Friday:) Funny Faces In The Strangest Places

9 May

“Faces says the status of mind.”

― Biju Karakkona

I’ve been making funny faces in my brownie mixes for many years. “I see faces everywhere.” When I made a batch of brownies, I was inspired. I never thought in a million years that this would be a theme for a brownie face photo. (I’ve been quartile too long.)

But, I also see faces in strange places when I’m out walking.

I’m not sure how it got to be Friday again already, but here we are.

Happy Friday, my friends. Cheers!!!

Friday:) FaceTime Family Faces

3 Feb

“Old words are reborn with new faces.”

~ Criss Jami Killosophy

Mom and I got to FaceTime with her great-granddaughter tonight. She gave us that cute backward wave.

A couple of old faces chatting with a new little face. Isn’t she adorable?

She’s starting to take a few steps. I’m sure she’ll be running before we know it.

I love being a grandma, even if it isn’t face-to-face. A picture is worth a million words.

Thank you technology.

Friday: Happy Faces and Going Places

10 Jan

Art is the child of nature in whom we trace the features of the mothers face.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Coming to you live from the Metra train departing Big Timber at 3:22, arriving at Union Station Chicago at 4:49. Let’s see if I can write this blog before the end of the line. (Never wrote live from a train, not to mention on my teeny tiny iPhone. Bumpity-bump.)

Today is my birthday. Why thank you very much! See… I know what you are thinking, and you are sending me good wishes. Thanks! I spent a lovely morning with my mom. Her lady friends sang and had presents and cards for me. Then, breakfast with my sister. Now, on the train to have dinner downtown with my sons and spend the weekend. ( Yes!!!! Chicago pizza!!!! I missed you!!!!)

Yep, Mom is a cutey pie.
This is my birthday adventure. Glad you could join me. Almost there. More to follow. See ya!

Friday: More Faces, More Firemen

25 May

I see faces everywhere, in my eggs in the frying pan, in my brownie batter, and today in my cheesecake mixture. Yes, faces everywhere! The fun part is, the funny faces in the batter always bring about smiling faces in the recipients of the finished product.

When the eggs are dropped in, the face just happens. This is never done on purpose. A gift or a curse?

The finished product…mini-cheesecakes.

With Memorial Day around the corner, I wanted to thank our local fire fighters with some homemade treats. They certainly go out of their way for us, don’t they!

But sound aloud the praises, and give the victor-crown
To our noble-hearted Firemen, who fear not danger’s frown.
