Another Tenacious Tuesday

Like success failure is many things to many people. With Positive Mental Attitude, failure is a learning experience, a rung on the ladder, a plateau at which to get your thoughts in order and to prepare to start again.

I’ve had just about enough with learning experiences lately. Failure, I don’t accept failure. There is no such thing as failure in my vocabulary. I may mess up sometimes, but they are usually just building blocks, stepping stones, trial and error, but never failure. So, what’s the deal with ladders, you ask? Well, you didn’t, but I’ll tell you anyway.

I had to finish up a woodworking and faux finishing project in the house. It was a repair that needed to match existing paint finish and woodwork. The tricky part was, some of the work was twelve feet high on the wall. I’M AFRAID OF HEIGHTS AND LADDERS! Well, I gathered my courage and various paints and brushes and bit the bullet, hoping not to bite the dust. I never attempted a faux finish before, so I was a little shaky, but remember, I don’t believe in failure. Well, I did pretty darn good.

With my positive mental attitude, there was no failure, but rather a learning experience, a rung on the ladder. My thoughts are in order and I prepare to start again. Literally!

Take a look at this scary ladder. I was on the fifth step. I’ve never been past the second step before. Starting anew sometimes calls for stepping up and climbing those extra steps.
