Throwback Thursday:) Funny Brownie Faces

11 Feb

“I see faces in the brownies. Funny happy faces that turn into yummy brownies.”

This memory came up on my Facebook page today from 2015. Pretty funny. I still make funny faces in the brownie mix occasionally, but I’ve pretty much run out of fantastic funny face ideas. I’ll have to work on that. This one is hard to beat, especially if you are an artist and all around weird person, like me.

And the brownies that resulted were just as awesome. Yes, I know. I’m weird.🤦‍♀️

Happy Thursday, my friends. Now, I have to log into my online “Brain Health Workshop” that I signed up for. I need all the help I can get. 🤦‍♀️

I made some brownies this afternoon. And yes, I had to make a funny face before I started mixing and fixing. After all these many years, I often think, “No, you don’t need to make a face in the brownies.” Then, my creative brain says, “Ah, common. It”ll be fun.”

The brownies were yummy, and I shared them with Lynard, my landscaping guy, my church group, and a few neighbors.

Oh, and here’s an example of how I place fresh white bread pieces to keep them fresh a few more days. I’ll cover with foil and they’ll be perfectly moist. Actually, they’ll be gone by tomorrow evening.

Another thing I’m very good at making is mold and dehydrated citrus fruit. Can anyone say…penicillin?

It’s called cleaning out the fridge and making scary discoveries.

Sunday Sermon and Other Stuff

“There is an end to life.

Live life while you still have the grace to breath.”

― Lailah Gifty Akita, Beautiful Quotes

A chilly gloomy Sunday again, but I always enjoy starting my day bright and early and going to 9 o’clock Mass. Because I’ve been greeting at 8:30, I get to start my day by smiling and saying good morning to hundreds of people, and the best part is….I get those many smiles and pleasant greetings in return.

Today, the Gospel was about not knowing when the end of the world is coming. My take on it…No one knows when the world will end, no one knows if they’ll get hit by a bus tomorrow, so just live the best life you can. Be the best person you can, and live life to the fullest.

Mark 13:24-32……..

“Learn a lesson from the fig tree.

When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves,

you know that summer is near.

In the same way, when you see these things happening,

know that he is near, at the gates.

Amen, I say to you,

this generation will not pass away

until all these things have taken place.

Heaven and earth will pass away,

but my words will not pass away.
“But of that day or hour, no one knows,

neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I’d still make funny faces with my brownie mix, and I’d keep sharing with my friends. Why? It makes me smile and makes them smile.
