Taco Tuesday, Toni’s Last Day In Grandma-Land, and the First Snowfall

29 Dec

“Kindness is like snow. It beautifies everything it covers.“

~Khalil Gibran

Gee! Just like that, four weeks slipped away, and I go back to Texas in the morning…”God willing and the Creek don’t rise.” So many flight cancellations. Cross your fingers.

The girls and I did some crafts and painting this afternoon. I still had a couple of projects I never got to.

Look at those little adorable artists.
Dry creative and silly. I wonder who they take after?
The snow started coming down around 11 am. The first real snowfall of the year. By noon, they couldn’t stand it any more. They wanted to go out and play in the snow.
Daddy and Mommy went outside and played with them. Daddy helped them build a snowman. Grandma took photos from inside. Grandma is a Texas gal now.
Here’s their ND Irish O’Snowman. Do you think Daddy influenced the theme? Let’s Go Irish!
There wasn’t a lot of snow, but this little angel managed to make a snow angel.
Grandma made vegetarian tacos for our last dinner together. And that’s all she wrote….

Theme Song Thursday:) Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer 🤦‍♀️

17 Dec

“It’s funny what happens when you become a grandparent. You start to act all goofy and do things you never thought you’d do. It’s terrific.”

– Mike Krzyzewski

After dinner, the girls and I were working on some reindeer crafts. You know, the kind where you punch out the antlers, and the sticky backed hat and nose, and googley eyes.

Well, it’s all is fun and games until “Grandma gets run over by a reindeer.”

Cute, right?
There were some left over stickers, so Grandma got stickers placed all over her. Guess what, they weren’t that pleasant to peel off. Yikes!

Saturday:) Saving Some Sultry Texas Sunsets For A Gloomy Rainy Day

27 Oct

“Nana always said the rain was nature’s way of adding sparkle to the outdoors.” –

It’s been a horrible gloomy rainy day here in Chicago. Where’s the sparkle?

Not much new to report except this old Gamma is exhausted. Another full fun-filled day with the grand-daughters. Two down, three more to go.

So, I decided today would be a good day to share some spectacular McKinney, Texas sunsets and skies, to brighten up the gloomy day. Oh… and just one more Gamma in Chicago picture.

Happy Saturday my friends!
