“Art should not be admired from afar, but rather lived up close and personal.”

Today, The Art Club of McKinney had their end of the year luncheon at the beautiful Heard Craig House.

The event was catered by Hugs and set up in the gorgeous dining room of the historical home, surrounded by brilliant stained glass windows, antique furniture, hand-painted china, most of all, good friends.

Also on display, were the auction bowls created by local artists that will be featured in this year’s Empty Bowls charity event, coming up on May 16th at MPAC.

I was especially honored to have my auction bowl on display.

A lovely luncheon and beautiful day.

“Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart. ”
― Washington Irving
Today, The Art Club of McKinney had their annual Christmas meeting and luncheon at Heard-Craig Hall with a tour of the beautiful Heard-Craig House.
The house was built in 1900 and has been lovingly preserved all these years, and continues to provide tours, exhibits, educational programs and meeting space for local clubs and organizations.

Executive Director, Barbara Johnson, gave us a tour of the beautifully decorated home.

After the tour, we had a lovely luncheon across the street at the hall. Everyone brought delicious dishes and desserts, and the tables were lavishly decorated .
