Montage Monday:) A Week In A Steamy Texas Peek

9 Jul

“It’s SO hot here in Texas, I turned on the oven just to cool off!” (Just kidding, but I was baking some brownies.)

Another hot, hot, hot Texas week. Thank God for air conditioning and ice cream. Not necessarily in that order. A great week with friends, pool parties, parades, karaoke, long steamy walks, and Church on Sunday. All the makings of a wonderful week…

It’s July already. Holy Cow! We’re in the midst of our unbearable Texas summer heat. That’s ok. I still get out and walk every day. But, I will admit that sometimes I say to myself in the middle of the scorching walk…” Hmm? I think I smell bacon cookin.” And that would be funny if it wasn’t so true.

This was on my way home tonight after dinner at Delaney’s with the Single Mingle group. That was the actual temp at 7 pm without the heat index.

A week in a peek…with a lot of friends.

“Life is like a basketball team. It takes a lot of practice, coaching, teamwork, and sometimes sweat and suffering. You just have to keep dribbling down the court and keep aiming for the basket.”

~ Toni Armenta Andrukaitis (I coached 7th grade girl’s basketball once upon a time.)

Every Monday, when I look back at my week’s worth of photos, it’s like reliving each day and smiling at the wonderful events and people that have blessed my life. I put together a little montage, using a dozen or so of my favorite pictures and quotes. That’s a tough task. I usually take a zillion pictures every week. Well, maybe not a zillion, but maybe a million or two. Ha!

This week, I did a lot of baking, visiting with friends, a few lunches, a couple of dinners, a few margaritas, visiting cute firemen, dancing at the senior center, singing at the VFW, painting, well, the list goes on.

This is my life…isn’t it grand?

I am so busy doing nothing that the idea of doing anything which as you know, always leads to something cuts into the nothing and then forces me to have to drop everything. “

~Jerry Seinfeld

Wow! A busy week. My first dance at the senior center, Zumba at the Y, pickle ball, Zumba gold, popsicles in the park, karaoke, lunch with friends, found a stray dog, ribbon cutting and anniversary at Sweet Spot, Tiny Art Show, and Father’s Day FaceTime with family.

Seinfeld put it pretty well, a lot of busy doing nothing. But, oh what fun.

My week was filled with fun friends, lunches with friends, visiting, many steamy walks, singing, dancing, and chasing fiery sunsets at the end of the day. Good friends, fine journey,

A week in a peek… friends, flying flags, sunsets, remembering heroes, and savoring special moments and memories.

Thank you to all who have sacrificed so much. Fathers, sons, brothers, mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends.

To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity.

This was a great week for honoring men and women in service to their community and others. I like to think if we support our local community and city with time, integrity and service to others, we would have a much better world. One little town at a time.
