Tuesday:) Time To Turn Over a New Leaf

8 Feb

“You will turn over many a futile new leaf till you learn we must all write on scratched-out pages.”~ Mignon McLaughlin

I didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions this year, but I did make a conscious decision to try new things, change some old habits, and perhaps turn over a new leaf or two.

There’s always been a huge controversy over which way the toilet paper roll should be facing. Families and friends have argued, punches have been thrown, and I believe duels have been foight over this heated debate. (Just kidding, or am I?)  I have ALWAYS been an under person, over six decades. I found that gravity helps keep the sheets down and accessible, as the other way, the sheets sometimes get stuck on top of the ones underneath, or as seen below, can be a cat’s playtime pastime.

I don’t have a cat or a dog, but here’s a good reason for the under method.

In my effort to change and turn over a new leaf, starting January 1st, I decided to switch to  the “over” method, just to broaden my horizons and strengthen my character. It wasn’t an easy challenge. My hands trembled and my OCD spirit was challenged. But, I did it. I’ve been an “over” convert for going on 2 1/2 months now.

I’m sorry, but even seeing this photo makes me cringe, but I’m a big girl, I can handle it.

See, you can teach an old dog new tricks. He may not enjoy it, but is proud to have met the challenge.
