Self-Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue

16 Apr

“I appreciate when people listen to the sad songs, because it’s almost like telling someone your problems and having them listen with a compassionate ear.”

~Jhene Aiko

Such a yucky rainy day all day today, with chance of continued yucky tomorrow. Instead of “Rainy With a Chance of Meatballs,” it’s more like “Rainy With a Chance of a Tall Glass of Chardonnay.” (Just sayin’.)

I guess the gang is getting together for karaoke on Fridays now at the VFW, like the old days. I haven’t joined them yet. Delaney’s replaced their backroom with pool tables, so no more karaoke and socializing there. I may have to hang up my self-Quarantined microphone and get over to the VFW. But, for today… singing at home..all by myself. Oops…that’s a good song too.

My brown eyes aren’t so blue anymore. ❤️

Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) Sealed With a Kiss 💋

9 Apr

“Love can be expressed in a myriad of different methods, but the most timeless and most treasured will always remain the classic love letter.”
― Auliq Ice

I heard this song the other day and it brought back memories of way back when I was young and this was a popular song, I have always loved the concept of the love letter. Very nostalgic. “Sealed With a KISS.”

Happy Quarantined Thursday , my friends. 🎤

Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) A Thousand Years

19 Mar

“There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved.”

~George Sand

I haven’t done a Quarantined Karaoke Thursday in quite some time. Of course, I still sing in the kitchen, and in the shower, and making cookies, and boppin’ along to the radio when I’m driving. As I’ve always said, “I sing loud, and proud and off key, but I love it.”

Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) “My Funny Valentine”

12 Feb

“I have a karaoke punk band called The Ungrateful Dead, but we don’t exist yet.” ~ Eric Andre

Another Quarantined Karaoke Thursday here in frigid McKinney Texas. You would think I was back home in Chicago. Crazy, and it’s only going to get colder. I just asked my Google girlfriend what the temp was and she said, “The current temperature in McKinney is 25, but with the current wind conditions, it feels like it’s 13. YIKES! I said yikes, she didn’t. A good day to stay home cozy and quarantined and singing off key karaoke.

I so want to sing that song one day… but alas, “I Will Survive” even if I never get the nerve up to sing it.

Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) “Hello”

5 Feb

“Let us go singing as far as we go: the road will be less tedious.” ~Virgil

Another Quarantined Karaoke Thursday. Never in a zillion years did I think this scary pandemic would last so long. And we’ve only just begun. ( That’s another song for another Quarantined time, which I think we have plenty of.”

Stay healthy and happy and safe, my friends.

“Sometimes the view is better from the roof, but I need my feet planted firmly on the ground.”

Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You.”

15 Jan

“Where there is love there is life.” – Mahatma Gandhi

It is absolutely wonderful to feel loved and appreciated and admired and complimented. I’m very lucky because Christmas and my birthday are just a few weeks apart. I receive SO many calls, texts, gifts, cards and well wishes that it’s hard not to feel extra special and truly loved.

On this Quarantined Karaoke Thursday, I can’t help but feel… “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You.” (You know who you are.) ❤️

Keep singing, keep dancing, and keep loving, my friends.

Quarantined Karaoke New Year’s Eve

1 Jan

“Enter this new year with a gratitude for this new chance to create your dreams.”

~Avina Celeste

I spent nearly the entire cold gloomy rainy day in my pajamas, feeling blessed that I had nowhere I needed to go and nothing I needed to do. How wonderful is that!

I know we are all looking forward to a wonderful safe and healthy New Year.

Happy New Year my friends. Cheers! A new chance to create new dreams.

Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?

11 Dec

“Nothing in the world is permanent, and we’re foolish when we ask anything to last, but surely we’re still more foolish not to take delight in it while we have it.“

W. Somerset Maugham

Thursday already! Time for a tune by the Christmas tree.

Happy Thursday, my friends.

“And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.”

Another Quarantined Karaoke Thursday. Still can’t get YouTube going here, 🤦‍♀️

Mary did you know.

Happy Thursday!
