Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You.”

15 Jan

“Where there is love there is life.” – Mahatma Gandhi

It is absolutely wonderful to feel loved and appreciated and admired and complimented. I’m very lucky because Christmas and my birthday are just a few weeks apart. I receive SO many calls, texts, gifts, cards and well wishes that it’s hard not to feel extra special and truly loved.

On this Quarantined Karaoke Thursday, I can’t help but feel… “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You.” (You know who you are.) ❤️

Keep singing, keep dancing, and keep loving, my friends.

Quarantined Karaoke New Year’s Eve

1 Jan

“Enter this new year with a gratitude for this new chance to create your dreams.”

~Avina Celeste

I spent nearly the entire cold gloomy rainy day in my pajamas, feeling blessed that I had nowhere I needed to go and nothing I needed to do. How wonderful is that!

I know we are all looking forward to a wonderful safe and healthy New Year.

Happy New Year my friends. Cheers! A new chance to create new dreams.

Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) “Change Our Hearts”

20 Nov

“You’re just a prayer away from a change of heart.”

~ Henry R. Brandt

This is another quick story (oops, not so quick after all) about how someone up in heaven sends me a sign. Sometimes I say, “God, you don’t have to hit me over the head.” But, sometimes He does, just the same, just to make His point.

About six years ago, I was walking into church on a dreary Sunday morning. I hadn’t slept much, and I was in a pretty dark place after going through a very devastating divorce. My heart was broken and I was in pain, inside and out. I wasn’t angry, but really, really hurt, with NO forgiveness in my heart. (I still can’t forgive some things, but that’s OK. Some things are unforgivable.)

I knelt down, made the sign of the cross and closed my eyes. My normal prayer was always just repeating, “Thank You for Your blessings.” I would repeat that over and over, wipe away a few tears and sit down, waiting for Mass to start.

This particular day, I knelt with eyes closed tightly to hold back the tears. That day, for some reason, I changed my prayer to “God, please, please, CHANGE MY HEART. Let me find some peace.” The organ started playing and the choir started to sing. Everyone stood up with song sheets in hand and began to sing… “Change Our Hearts This Time.”

Well, I couldn’t hold back the tears. Happy tears. I said to myself, “Well, if you’re waiting for a sign, this is it.” A song just for me, right when I needed it, right when I asked for it. “Ask and you shall receive.”

Guess what my favorite hymn is? Yep, “Change Our Hearts.” My heart is in a much better place now.

Happy Quarantined Karaoke Thursday, my friends.

Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) One Less Bell to Answer

30 Oct

“Sometimes a song can bring back painful memories. But, keep singing your own song till you can sing along without the tears.”

You know me, I just love to sing and dance and play music throughout the house. Well, one day last week, I hear the song, “One Less Bell to Answer,” and a torrid of tears came bursting out and I couldn’t stop crying. I cried and shivered and sobbed for what seemed an eternity The song used to be my favorite song, and the Fifth Dimension was my favorite group. A certain someone gave me that album our first Christmas together. The memories came flooding through.

I san that sad song and posted it on YouTube the day after my divorce in 2014. I cried then too…

Now, I’ve “got that out of my system,” so I’m singing my happy mellow version today. As God is my witness, I will never cry when I hear this song again.

Under the wire. It’s 11:55 pm. Happy Thursday my friends.

Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) Sunrise, Sunset

16 Oct

“Some parents can’t wait until their children grow up and leave the nest. I wish I could have put a padlock on that nest and never let them go.”

~Toni Armenta Andrukaitis

What an amazing Thursday this has been. It was a dark, cloudy, blustery, and overcast day, but I loved it. I walked in the dog in the park, several times, met with some friends, went to the store, did some household chores, and enjoyed the day. The best part, of course, was a really awesome phone call from my sister. It was great to hear her voice and catch up.

The days go by too fast, and our children and grandchildren grow up too fast. There wasn’t an amazing sunset tonight, but last night and a zillion Other sunsets inspired my karaoke song for tonight…

Quarantined Karaoke Thursday:) I Love You Just The Way You Are

“I find the best way to love someone is not to change them, but instead, help them reveal the greatest version of themselves.”
