Sittin’ Around Snowed-in Stir Crazy Saturday

8 Dec

Hold fast to dreams For when dreams go Life is a barren field Frozen with snow.
Langston Hughes
Another frigid Dallas day. A glossy blanket of ice still covers every tree branch, frozen flower and slippery street. I’m not one to sit home, but even I wasn’t venturing out today. I didn’t even ice skate down to the mailbox. I seriously doubt if the mailman made it into our neighborhood today. That old “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds,” probably doesn’t apply for a day like today.

The power didn’t go out today like it did yesterday, so I kept the heat cranked up to 71 degrees, just in case it changed its mind. I spent the day checking emails, calling friends, painting a little, slurping piping hot soup, and watching a lot of TV with a warm furry blanket on my lap. Thank goodness for the Hallmark channel.

Now that I’m tired and toasty warm, my favorite beverage of a Black Russian with chocolate ice cream will be the perfect ending to a perfectly pointless snowed-in stir crazy Saturday.

LIFE IS GOOD!!!! Cold…but good!!!!
