Tedious Tasks Tuesday

4 Jun

“The victory of success is half won when one gains the habit of setting goals and achieving them. Even the most tedious chore will become endurable as you parade through each day convinced that every task, no matter how menial or boring, brings you closer to fulfilling your dreams.”
Og Mandino quotes (American Essayist and Psychologist, 1923-1996)
My friend Karen likes to do the majority of her housework on Monday. She calls it “maintenance Monday.” Not to steal her thunder, I ordained my Tuesday as “tedious task Tuesday.” Today was a perfect example. I started my day about 6:30 am, straightened the house, got dressed for Zumba, went to the Y at 8:30 am-9:30, came home and went for a walk. By now, it’s only 11. Time to clean all five bathrooms before showering and off to Sweet Spot Bakery for Tea Time and Tunes at noon. (Are you exhausted yet?)

Spending time with friends on the Square is one of my favorite pastimes. When I got home around 4, I made some lunch and sat outside a while, then decided to tackle the kitchen, living room and dining room floors. Yes, when I get wound up, I can’t stop. I swept, wet mopped the hard wood floors, and dug out the Shark steam mop for the kitchen tile. Now, it’s 8pm.

Well, that makes for a full day, right? Not! I texted my neighbor, Kat, and we went for a late night walk. Now, time to put up my feet and write my blog.

I set my goals and completed many tedious tasks. Thank goodness Tuesday only comes around once a week. I’m tired!
